No Spoilers

Hides scores and results for the sports you follow, on every site, until you have watched the game.

Like an ad blocker, but for a topic. For Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and for Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Version 1.0 · The App Store version covers Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac · Edge users: install from the Chrome Web Store

The situation

You've recorded Sunday's Grand Prix to watch tonight. Before you get the chance, the BBC homepage tells you who won. A friend's post on X gives away the final score of the Chiefs game you saved for the morning. A Reddit thread in your feed reveals who took Game 7.

No Spoilers stops that. Pick the sports and shows you're behind on, and it covers anything about them on any website before you see it: headlines, photos, captions, comments and search results. When you've caught up, tap "I've watched it" and the covers come off.

What you see instead

A grey card. Nothing else changes.

A grey card saying "Hidden · Formula One" with a Reveal button. The rest of the page is untouched. If a whole article is about the topic, the page is covered with a "Show anyway" button.

The BBC Sport homepage with Formula One switched on. One story is replaced by a grey card reading Hidden · Formula One, with Reveal and Not a spoiler? buttons. The football and cricket stories around it are untouched.
It works where spoilers happen

News, feeds, search, any site.

News sites (BBC, the Guardian, Sky Sports, the Daily Mail, the Independent), social feeds (X, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky), YouTube, Google search and Google News, and any other site. It handles pages that load as you scroll.

The BBC homepage with a topic for The Traitors switched on. A card and a trailer about the show are covered by grey Hidden · Traitors cards; the Strictly story beside them is still visible.
Nothing slips through first

Covered before the page is drawn.

Content is covered before the page is drawn, so you never get a split-second glimpse of the result. Tab titles are covered too, so "Verstappen wins at Monza" doesn't appear in your tab bar.

A row of BBC video clips where one clip about a hidden topic is replaced by a grey card. The other clips and the stories below are shown as normal.
Ready-made topics

Four to start with. Add your own.

Formula One Premier League NFL NBA

Formula One, the Premier League, the NFL and the NBA. Each knows the teams, the players, the nicknames and the phrases that give results away, like "podium", "hat-trick", "pick-six" or "buzzer-beater". Edit any of them, or delete the ones you don't follow.

Your own topics. Waiting to watch the Strictly final, or the last episode of The Traitors? Type the show's name and a few contestants and it's covered. Or highlight any words on a page and choose "Hide anything mentioning…".

The No Spoilers options page listing four topics, Formula One, Premier League, NFL and NBA, each switched on with Edit and Delete buttons and a Hide setting, above a form for adding your own topic.
The details

Catch up on your own time.

Set a topic to hide until you've watched, then let No Spoilers switch itself back on for the next one.

Catching up is easy

Set a topic to "Until I've watched it". After you press the button, No Spoilers switches itself back on for the next race weekend or episode. Or hide a topic until a date, or always.

Not a spoiler?

If a cover appears on a story that isn't a spoiler, one click tells No Spoilers which word to ignore from then on.
